New Online Insurance Agency Helps Parents Save Money

1/29/08

A new auto insurance company called TOGA Insurance, which conducts business solely from their website, has made it their mission to make it less expensive to insure teen drivers.

Chris Heidrick, president of TOGA (which stands for The Online General Agency) wants parents to take time to do comparison shopping, and tune up their entire auto insurance policy when they are adding a teen driver to it.

"Adding a teen to your existing policy is the path of least resistance," Heidrick says. " It's easy for the consumer and easy for your agent -- maybe too easy. In too many cases, these add-on policies are more expensive than they need to be."

According to Heidrick, TOGA specializes in insuring new drivers, but will insure those who are experienced behind the wheel as well. Initially, they'll be writing policies only in Florida, but they plan to expand to other geographic areas by the middle of this year.

TOGA Insurance is affiliated with the National Safety Commission, a company that provides online education services for drivers who have received traffic tickets, as well as offering new-driver education programs. TOGA's product line will be culled from many different carriers.
